Black Oak in a Country Grade is a stunning offering featuring a darker richer oak with beautiful dark spider like knots and mineral streaking. In most logging operations Black Oak and Red Oak are mixed together and the resulting planks dominated by the abundance of Red Oak vs. Black Oak are offered as Red Oak. Looking carefully at a Red Oak floor, you can pick out the tanner Black Oak planks that are intermittently spaced within the mosaic of a hardwood floor. At Hampshire Hardwoods we work carefully with a logging operation to separate Black Oak logs and mill it to our exacting standards. The result is a spectacular and warm country grade floor.
