Hampshire Hardwoods supports sustainable forestry practices and LEED

Sustainable forestry unites the growing and harvesting of trees with the long-term protection of wildlife, plants, soil and water. One of our primary goals is to source materials from sustainably managed forests.

Wood is the raw material on which Hampshire Hardwoods thrives. We, therefore, have a commercial interest in ensuring that the world's forests are sustainably managed. We want them to produce wood for future generations.

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative ("SFI") and the Forest Stewardship Council ("FSC") both promote responsible management of the world's forests. Hampshire Hardwoods strives to procure only from suppliers that practice sustainable forestry. Sustainable forestry practices bring organizations together to find solutions that promote good forest management.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ("LEED") is a Green Building Rating System™ that encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
